Our Story
We arrived to Missouri by train. Our goal, ride the Katy Trail from east to west and back again, then down to St. Louis. The 7th day, on our return trip from Clinton to Machens, we noticed a very cool property sitting vacant and for lease.
Six months later we moved from Washington DC to rural Marthasville, Missouri. Seven months later the KT Caboose was open once again, with a small menu and the concept, “what’s the least we need to do to offer food to bicyclist along the Katy Trail”. That perspective has served us well ever since.

Tent Camping on the Katy Trail.
We offer tent camping for bikers, hikers, and folks traveling along the Katy Trail. Camping is $10 per person and comes with an ice cream cone. Our facilities include a hot shower and bathroom with running water that is open all night. There’s no need to make reservations because our 1.6 acres is rarely full.
